Third party risk modelling of Unmanned Aircraft System operations, with application to parcel delivery service

Commercial aviation distinguishes three indicators for third party risk (TPR): i) Expected number of ground fatalities per aircraft flight hour; ii) Individual risk; and iii) Societal risk. The latter two stem from TPR posed to population by operation hazardous installations. Literature on Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) operations have focused the development first indicator. However expected increase commercial UAS requires an improved understanding (TPR). To support such improvement, this paper extends existing model with societal individual indicators. extension is developed both at modelling level assessment level. Subsequently extended approach applied a hypothetical based parcel delivery service in city Delft. results obtained novel show that aligns land use policies standing regulation airports facilities.
